Recommended Treatment

After an evaluation is complete, our therapists will determine the frequency and duration of recommended occupational therapy services. A customized treatment plan will be created for each child, and a home program will be provided to implement therapy techniques. Therapists will also provide classroom recommendations as needed. Therapy sessions are play-based and child-led, so that the child is engaged in play while the therapist can achieve the just-right challenge to create an optimal environment for learning and development.

Services

  • Individual Therapy

Individual therapy services include one on one play-based, child-led sessions. The therapist and child will engage in sensory-motor-play activities to achieve the just right challenge to best meet the child’s needs while promoting independence with daily living skills and daily occupations-play, learning, and self-care.

  • Group Handwriting

Group Handwriting services include a multi-sensory, movement based approach to handwriting remediation. Our therapists focus on prewriting skills, functional hand skill development, and writing skills. Our program includes using art and crafts, various textured mediums, and fine motor games to build foundational hand skills.
