Dr. Elise McIver received her doctoral degree in school psychology from Louisiana State University and completed an internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD. She is also a board certified behavior analyst. Dr. McIver’s experience includes serving as a consultant in school-based settings to aid school personnel in optimizing assessment and intervention practices at the individual and group levels. Additionally, she has extensive experience providing outpatient psychological and behavioral services for typically developing children, as well as children with developmental disorders. Dr. McIver has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including the Louisiana State University Psychological Services Center, the Emerge Center, and the Behavior Management Clinic at the Kennedy Kieger Institute.
Dr. McIver’s clinical interests include the assessment and treatment of problem behavior, teacher consultation, and behavioral parent/caregiving training. She greatly values working as part of a multidisciplinary team to address the social, emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs of children and their families. In her spare time, Dr. McIver enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, drinking coffee and reading, and her dog, Winston.
